About VILLAGE LONDON
this is the 'secret' London - the hidden village withinn London Metropolis.
To start with a great deal of London neighbourhoods were originally villages in the outskirts of London which gradually got absorbed by the expansion of the city - Chelsea, Kentish Town camden, kensington Dulwich, Clapham, Islington, to name but a few at random.
Surpisingly and happily a great many aspects of the old villages have survived, sometimes hidden behind new developments and therefore not immediately obvious.
Former artisans cottages were gentrified but kept the elevations and the volumes as well as the charm and character of past centuries.
Mews are equally a great example of 'village London'.
