About Victory gardens
Join the Victory Garden campaign, A roots movement, giving power to the people! This is a group designed to inspire people to plant their seeds and take root in the soil they live on or in garden containers on their apartment balcony's. Grow some of your own food, its a great experience and will get you better food than money can buy. As the cost of living increases and the income decreases we need to find a sustainable solution to our crumbling economy. Tell us about your Victory Garden and let us see some pictures now!
People all over the nation are planting "Victory Gardens" inspired by the victory gardens of world war I and world war II where people in America grew a large portion of all their food in their front yards and back yards in vacant lots and family farms. Leaving national resources and agribusiness to support the war effort. The modern "Victory Garden" is more of a relieve effort than a war effort. Relieving your income and the energy (carbon foot print) it takes to transport food the usual 1500 to 3000 miles that most food travels from farm to table. Growing large farms of 1000's of acres with single crops degrades the soil and is not a long term sustainable farming technique. It is crucial to grow organically and on a small scale that is easy. Lets see what your doing and share the spirit of Victory!
