About Vesties Calendar - Photo Submissions
I'm a vintage seller on etsy, member of the fun and fantastic Vintage Etsy Society Team. My shop name is jackiedretroboutique. I came up with the idea for a team calendar and I'm very excited about it! I think it would be a great way to showcase and promote our team members and their shops.
The idea is this: I would like to create and sell a printed calendar showcasing photos of vintage items submitted by team members. Other than being a beautiful and useful calendar, its purpose would be :
1) as a promotion/advertising vehicle for the team and its members. The calendar will include descriptive text about the team in general, the shops that are featured, and with all team- and shop-related URL's.
2) as a useful tool for all etsy sellers - it would include all the country and global holidays/events I could fit on it, plus any relevant dates related specifically to etsy.
In addition, I will donate a part of the proceeds of each sale. I have 2 thoughts on this:
1) I could donate to a charity. Some kind of organization that promotes women in small business might be appropriate. I found this one which I think might be perfect but I will continue to investigate. www.buildanest.com/mission.asp . If anyone has a suggestion for a relevant charitable organization I'd love to hear it!
2) Open and donate to a Vesties team "slush fund" that we could use in the future for team purposes (contests, promotions, pursuits, online fees, etc). It would be easy enough to open a unique Paypal account for this purpose.
OR, I could do both of the above. A lot will depend on the cost of producing the calendar relative to its eventual selling price. I will be figuring all that out in the coming days and will update here.
As a first step, I need your photos! Please submit your best of the best shots. It's not necessary that they be thematically related to a given month but keep it in mind if you can. Seasons, holidays, etc. Make sure you tag your items with your etsy shop name so I know who you are!
