About Le Mont Ventoux
Le Mont Ventoux is located in the the Provence in the south of France. The summit is 1912 m above sealevel. People go to this summit by car, by bike or hiking. And the trip is fascinating. You should go there if you don't know the place. Lots of snow in winter and even in the summer the mountain is white and what you see is a moon landscape. The Mont Ventoux can be very cold (below 0 in summer) and windy (over 200 km/hr). Charming little villages around the giant mountain: Bédoin, Malaucène, Buis-les-Baronnies, Brantes and Sault. To find the Mont Ventoux, look on the map for Avignon, Carpentras or Vaison-la-Romaine and go east. Beautiful is Gorges the la Nesque, a bit more to the south. On the flanks: Chalet Reinard, Mont Serein and Chalet Liotard.
You can upload your pictures, shot at the mentioned locations. Especially people who made it to the top on their bike or hiking are invited to join and share their experiance. But also shots from villages are welcome. Ad pictures to the group, but:
- choose good quality pictures
- please no family pictures
- make a selection, nobody is interested in 5 copies of the same picture.
Sometimes pictures will be removed.
The purpose is to show the beauty of this magnificent mountain, standing majestical in the attractive landscape of southern France.
