Birth Details

Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on 30th March 1853 and died on 29th July 1890.
Personal Details

* Vincent Willem van Gogh was born in Groot-Zundert in a village which was situated near to Breda in the Province of North Brabant located in the southern Netherlands.
* During the early adult life Vincent Van Gogh spent working for a firm of art dealers.
* After that for a small period of time Vincent Van Gogh also worked as a teacher.
* Then Vincent Van Gogh worked as a missionary worker in a very poor mining region.
* In Vincent Van Gogh's life his brother Theo was the central figure who continually and selflessly provided financial support.
* Their lifelong friendship is recognized in many letters they exchanged from August 1872 onwards.

Accomplishment

During the last ten years of his life he created more than 2,000 works comprising around 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings and sketches.

Vincent Van Gogh is a pioneer of what came to be termed as Expressionism.
