About Urban Fisherman
This is a group designed to shed light on the many fishing opportunities available to residents of the urban environment, and dispel the myth that one must travel to remote locations to enjoy the extensive benefits of a few hours fishing. Many people commute to work everyday without realizing they pass right over or by prime fishing locations. This is an effort to bring fishing to the masses and show you don't need a boat or even a car to be a fisherman and that opportunities abound right under our noses.
Images should focus on the fish or the act of fishing within an urban context. The environment and contrast between nature and urbanity should be the focus, not the fisherman. In other words this is not the place for glory shots.
The preference is for fishing holes accessed by walking or public transportation though any site within a city's limits is acceptable. Holes accessed by boat only are allowed, though ideally the focus would be on shore bound/wading anglers or rental boats.
Please include some information on location (you don't have to be exact we all like to keep some spots to ourselves). Shots do not necessarily have to be surrounded by skyscrapers just within a city's limits, and please label locations that do not readily show their urbanism. If possible also provide info as to access-bike, subway, walk etc. that is nearby.
