About Unusual Instruments
As the group title says, we are collecting photos of unusual musical instruments.
The instruments can be acoustic or electric, anything is allowed as long as they are really unusual.
Rule 1: please don't simply post photos of instruments that you don't know, or that seem exotic to you. They might not be that unusual, and they might be not that exotic in other parts of the world. A gamelan orchestra would not be considered unusual in Indonesia.
Please post only photos of instruments that are really unusual and really rare, such as prototypes, self-built instruments (unless they are basically "normal" instruments such as guitars), inventions, circuit-bent toys etc.
I'd say that really interesting vintage instruments (antique synthesizers etc) would also qualify, but not if there are already dozens of similar images on flickr or even dedicated groups (e.g. there is already a Theremin group, so no need to repost Theremins here unless they look very unusual, even for Theremins :-).
Rule 2: The entire instrument should be clearly visible on the photo. For the Circuit Benders: please post the whole instrument, not just a circuit board, and - if the circuit-bent instrument looks just like a normal instrument, or like a bunch of electronics, please don't post it here - it may be an interesting instrument, but it should also be interesting to look at.
Rule 3: Please add a description. Did you build the instrument yourself? If not, where did you find it? Links to websites and mp3 samples would be great
For inspiration, check out this and this website
Rule 4: Please add only one image, not a whole series.
