11 Oct 10 - Hello everyone!

Welcome to the Photographers at Surrey group. Please feel free to participate in discussions (or start your own discussion threads), post your photos, and comment on other peoples' images too!

We recommend that you start by introducing yourself in this thread to let people know who you are. After that, all you need to do is get posting!

About University of Surrey Photographic Society

Welcome to the Flickr group for the University of Surrey Photography Society. This is a place for us to share our photos, discuss them, plan events, run competitions, and just generally chat about photography.

It's very easy to add your photos to the group: Upload a photo to your flickr stream and click on it to open the photo's page. At the top of the photo you'll see a button marked "add to group".

Just select our group from the list and your photo will be added!

To add an image to a discussion thread, go to the page of the photo and click on the "all sizes" button. You'll see some HTML code below the image - just copy and paste this into the "reply" box in this thread.

Anyone can start a discussion or contribute to an existing one, so go for it. Post links to photographers you want to talk about, or talk about techniques you've tried, or queries about equipment, or even post your own work to ask for critique. Just a few pointers though:

If you want to chat about something not related to photography or to the group, then think about if it really belongs here. There are other places on the internet for you to share funny videos of cats playing the piano. If you think it's something the group will be interested in, and it's not strictly relevant, then go ahead and post it. Please prefix your topic title with "OT" (for off-topic), to help others navigate the group and find threads they're interested in.

Please do comment on your fellow Surrey Photographer's work in the pool. If someone has asked for critique, keep it friendly. Nobody ever improved from being told that they suck! Lets keep a nice constructive atmosphere, and then I won't have to ban anyone.

Have fun!

Hugh
