About London Underground Tile Patterns

This is a group for photographs of the various tile patterns which make the London Underground one of the most unique transport networks in the world. From the polychromatic patterns of stations on the Piccadilly Line by Leslie Wiliam Green in the early 1900s, to the mosaics of Will Alsop's North Greenwhich station on the Jubilee Line extension for the Millennium.

London Underground's stations are constantly changing. Following privatisation, and with a drive to rejuvenate our tube system in time for the Olympics, may stations are being refurbished and retiled - some more successfully than others.

This is not a group for any pictures which are generally connected with the London Underground - the fantastic London Tube group exists for this already. The focus of this group is the tiling of platforms, passageways, ticket halls and station buildings. Please read the group rules for guidelines.

Images which do not fit in with the theme will be removed for the benefit of the rest of the group.
