About Underground restaurants

Places for aficionados to meet and have a good time, like a combination of a restaurant and a dinner party. Slightly on the possibly not too legal side, mind goes to thoughts of the speakeasies of the prohibition days.

London has two well known ones, one in Kilburn and one in Hackney. Allegedly there are a few in Paris as well.

In the US they are called "supper clubs", in Cuba "paladares".

Guardian recently wrote about the phenomenon.
