ABOUT US:
We are a loose coalition of people who live, work and visit St Kilda, brought together by our outrage at the size and focus of the proposed commercial development on the St Kilda Triangle Crown land.

We're not anti development on the site, but those of us who participated in the lengthy community consultation process for the site are dismayed to see it deliver a grossly over-developed vision that dismisses our input.

We called ourselves unChain St Kilda because, if this massive commercial development goes ahead in its current form, St Kilda's public foreshore will be 'locked up' by multi-national and local chains for 99 years. Uninterrupted, magical vistas of the Palais, Luna Park, beach and sea will disappear from the Upper Esplanade forever. Next time you walk, drive or ride along the Upper Esplanade, remind yourself of what you will lose.

We've prepared this website to help you find out more about the project and to join us in various campaigns and events to achieve significant changes and to work with us to create a new vision for the crown land.

And remember - this over-development will only be a done deal if you allow it.
