About Not forgotten asylums in the UK
A group to post pictures of and about a part of the UK's history which is being swept under the carpet.
During most of the 20th Century many thousands of people lived and worked in institutions known variously as asylums, mental hospitals, colonies, mental sub normality hospitals etc.
Most of these places have been closed now and left to rot, pulled down or bulldozed. Whilst closing them may have been a good thing, forgetting them is not.
Please join and post photographs of and about these places, let us keep our history.
