About U-Sector

U Sector Started in the midst of the 2000 season, the Toronto Ultras were a small knit group of soccer fans who wanted to improve the atmosphere and level of support for the Toronto Lynx soccer club. The group would use methods of support seen in most soccer stadiums around the world such as chanting, singing, banners, drums and flares.

The Ultras would take position in section U of old Varsity Stadium, this area became known by fans as the U Sector. After leaving Varsity Stadium for less impressive pastures at Centennial Park Stadium, the nickname for the home of the Ultras would stick. In the 2004 off-season, due to the widespread use of the Ultras name, the group began to adopt "U Sector", the name of their section at Varsity Stadium, as its name.

Aside from supporting the club at home, the U Sector would travel to support the Lynx making numerous road trips to local rivals Rochester and Montreal. In addition, typically the U Sector would take on Rhinos supporters The Stampede in a two game home-and-home series competiing for the Lake Ontario Derby and the "Vallow Boot", a trophy topped by a match-used boot from former Rhinos keeper Scott Vallow.

The U Sector has also travelled great distances to support the Canadian national team at events such as the Gold Cup, having a modest contingent of supporters in Boston in 2003. In addition, U Sector has travelled to World Cup Qualifying matches and various friendlies.
