About Tyrrell Today

This group is about extending the Powerhouse Museum’s set of images on The Commons and opening it up to you. Thanks for the fantastic contributions we are receiving!

We are uploading images from our Tyrrell photographic collection taken around the late 1800s to the early 1900s. These images are Sydney-centric with some regional locations. We will be posting more images on a weekly basis until we run out of scans. We have placed a large proportion of the images on our map and some of you have been tagging these with postcodes, which is very cool.

We now want you to post your contemporary images taken from approximately the same location. We highly encourage you to place them on the map too. You may want to blend, layer or mix the images together.

* place the link of the image from our set of photos on The Commons that you are comparing to, into your description.
