About typioca

Typography has an agency to make us feel something about the food which we consume. This may be in the styling of the typography to make us believe in the heritage of a brand.

From a use of typography used to twist our arm or prey on our impulses we feel an urge to binge, share, become nostalgic, laugh at and also collect.

This flickr group hosts pictures of type related to food. This is mostly served up as snapshots of packaging. The tumblerblog www.typioca.tumblr.com is how all this started.

The tumblerblog satiated my appetite for being able to critique the use of typography as language and also form. Also I'm fessing up to being a bit of a foodie these days.

If you like typography and food then you're more than welcome to bring. If you'd rather just nibble on the occasional serving of typioca great.
