Anybody know of a typeface that is similar to this architectural carving from the 1930's?

Look among the uncials at a site like Myfonts.com. I strongly suspect this was designed by the carver. The C and T are Caslonish, the E, N, and U are classic celtic-styled uncials. Myfonts has one called Coverack that is close but no cigar.

Thanks, guys, those are good. The curly serifs must be unique, except for some silly modern party fonts (my moniker) like Kismet or Acadian. The mix of Gothic, Celtic, and American Arts & Crafts fits the building well, I think.

The funny part of this is how you have a letter form based on pen/brush forms on the side of a building--so I wonder how it was applied--perhaps sandblasted?

If you need free fonts like this -or similar- go to: moorstation.org/typoasis/designers/steffmann/index.htm

Another GREAT resource site (under construction yet) is: the-rank.com

Lumachrome: I wouldn't bet on sandblasting unless that stone has been replaced - it says here that the building was completed in 1926.

While I'm sure that sandblasting was available, I'd think more traditional drill-and-carve techniques would have been used in pre-WWII stonework.
