About Flickr Meetup at Twin Falls
We had a two day campout at Twin Falls along the Lewis River in Washington on August 21-23, 2009, with 8 people and 2 dogs in attendance at one point or another during the 3 days.
Name yourselves with notes!
Joyful is how I felt as several of us shot photos the last couple days in the Lewis River Basin and up at Takhlakh Lake, northwest of Mt. Adams in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in southern Washington. We were thoroughly enjoying our flickr campout at Twin Falls camp... a no fee campsite along the upper Lewis River. A total of 8 people and 2 dog friends came and went over the 3 days, with 3 of us staying over on Saturday night. We had some good Dutch Oven cooking, corn boiled in a Gypsy pot hanging from a wrought iron tripod over the fire, garden salad, chile dogs, huckleberry pancakes with eggs and bacon.... we did NOT go hungry and thanks to everyone for helping fill the pantry!
In attendance were
JaniceL
Victor
Steve (oldmantravels)
Lew (High-on-Life)
Larry (bobshots)
John (rooftop65)
Gary Randall
My dog Rio, Gary's MUCH healthier and happier dog after great trials and tribulations, Betty
and of course, ME!
I swear I have not laughed and jumped around that much in ages, it was GREAT!!! thanks kids... let's do it again someday! Thanks so much for everyone's help... you all jumped in and helped me unload and set up camp, cook and clean, start fires, and then at the end the last 2, Larry and John, helped me pack up the whole camp and haul everything back down to my storage locker... and even bought some of my photo cards from the Heavenly Grounds cafe in Trout Lake ...
and thanks for the Huckleberry smoothie, Larry! You were great fun to get to know, and it was fun seeing you loosen up and get downright goofy with us, and look so darn HAPPY by the end of the event!
John thanks for all your help in camp, and with packing up the last day and hauling some of my stuff, and it was so fun seeing you figuring out your camera and getting absorbed into Big Spring Creek Falls... while Larry ran around the falls like a young kid!
Gary, it was fun seeing you all serious out shooting the early morning river from different angles when I went down to wash up that morning, and late night parking lot star shots and laughter...
Janice, it was so great having you come up for the day and I also really wish you could have stayed over... hope your dogs are ok! Thanks for bringing up the hamburger that I forgot.. and for running us up to the lake in your car.
Victor.. it is always a treat to have you on a hike or get together with your perspectives on things and even temperament...
Steve, so glad you could stop by on your amazing journey, and I love how you tell the story on your Walupt Creek Falls shots... thanks for the food donations. ...
Lew, it was a real treat getting to meet you as well, I am so glad you came down to join us. Thanks for all your help and for all the fascinating bits of information on so many subjects!
Hmmm, maybe this should become an annual event!

We talked of creating a group that is specifically for the folks who attended to share many photos of the event in one place, and one things that can be done is many of them can be left private on our streams but when added to the group will show in that group..
