About Tucson Flickrmeets

This group is created with the intent of mirroring a great group and experience in Calgary (Canada) where every month photographers of all different levels and experience would join for a morning or afternoon of collective shooting.

Usually a "theme" or location is picked in advance. We meet and soon after a brief self introduction we start shooting. There is no formal teaching, no lectures, just a stroll and shooting. Very interesting dynamic when a number of people are picturing all sort of things. End of the day can be in a bar or coffee shop for some social. Next day the pictures of the meet start to appear in the group photostream (and only pictures taken at the flickrmeet can actually be posted). The result is fantastic, you learn a lot by seeing all the different perspectives and approaches to the subject.

Also... If you want the company of photographers for the day, or at least don't mind, but it's not a Flickrmeet proper you can also post here and maybe some folks might just join you.

Put simply, let's just start getting to know each other, in person not just in cyber space...

This group is not intended to compete with the MeetUp group, which is focused on more didactic and lecture based teaching.
