Getting Traveler's Notebook in Europe (Italy)
|
Hi all!
In the past week I was hanging around in the net...
And I've found Scription, Patrick NG website... And, as you can imagine, I fallen in love with traveler's notebook. After some researches I've found out this website:
www.nippon-export.com/
I'm talking with this guy, Mathias, and he links me to the Itoya web store. Itoya website cannot be auto-traslated... but midori codes
are still readable so I've told him quantities and codes.
Now I'm waiting. I will tell you how the story goes on.
bye
,

After two weeks, one for transfer from Itoya to Nippon Export and one for japan to italy, all the stuff is arrived.
The parcel is perfect, goods are ok (with Itoya bag!) and all the operations have been smooth.
I've payed with paypal with zero problems.

Interesting method to get it MattiaC! So how much it finally costed you to get the traveler's notebook from Japan? please post some pictures of your traveler's notebook coz I'd like to verify before recommending to other members.
So all you did was email to the nippon export guy with web link to itoya, then he quoted you the price and you do transaction on their web site? Pls provide steps for reference if possible.
Thanks

First of all I've asked via this link some new products:
www.nippon-export.com/catalog/ask_for_products.php
and I've asked if it was possible to find out midori's stuff.
Mathias (mathias [at] nippon-export [dot] com) answered (really fast) and relinked to me to the itoya web store.
I've told him what to buy (midori codes) and he answered me the total price.
I've payed, via paypal
1. the stuff
2. domestic shipping from itoya to nippon-export
3. 15% fee for the service
4. shipping to Italy
Yep, it's a little bit expensive (I'm in Italy, modo&modo is in Italy you know...) but I was really messed up with all these moleskines...
Btw, I've got to try to put inside the traveler's some cahiers...
And I'm trying to make some personal refills...
and btw, nice to talk to you Patrick!
(I will post some shots as soon as possible)

Thanks Matt, *expensive* really. But you get what you desired and that's good enough. I like Midori's paper better than Moleskine. Thanks for sharing with us the journey!

Patrick, can you translate us the small printed sheet that I've found inside the traveler's package?
Btw... Moleskine are made in different papers...
I really like heavy paper, I don't know if Midori has got a refill with that kind of paper

Midori does have better paper than Moleskine IMHO. I can't translate Japanese, but you can use this amazing translation web site to view Japanese pages: www.excite.co.jp/world/english/web
Just type the URL and press the button.

I've also find out, random google search, this italian distributor:
www.winshop.biz/
but I've got to test it.
It's expensive like ordering in Japan :(
