About Trash Fashion
ABOUT TRASH FASHION
This group runs alongside the Science Museum’s Trash Fashion exhibition and competition.
Join our group to share your refashioning ideas and inspire others to prevent waste by refashioning old or unwanted clothes rather than buying new.
Your photo could feature in a computer display at the Science Museum’s new exhibition ‘Trash Fashion…designing out waste’.
Plus, your creation could even earn its very own space in our exhibition. From July 2010 until March 2011, we’ll be inviting the public’s favourite refashioned clothes to be exhibited at the museum.
SUBMITTING YOUR IMAGE
To submit your photo simply join this Flickr group and add your image to the group.
For your photo to appear in our computer display at the Science Museum, you’ll need to tag your picture using these categories: clothing type (before and after) and colour. Read these FAQs for more information on tagging.
Clothing Types – Before and After
Give your image ‘before’ and ‘after’ tags to describe what type of clothing you started with, and what it became after you refashioned it. So if you started with a T-shirt and refashioned it into a dress, it should be tagged:
before:T-shirt (no spaces)
after:dress
Please use the following categories of clothing for the ‘before:’ and ‘after:’ tags.
Jumper / Cardigan / Sweatshirt / T-shirt / Vest / Dress / Skirt / Trousers / Jeans / Shirt / Jacket / Coat
Colour (as many as apply):
Red / Orange / Yellow / Blue / Green / Purple / Pink / Black / White / Brown / Grey
When you upload your image, please make it taggable by others.
Description
We’d be grateful if you could include a few lines to tell others how you refashioned your item of clothing.
Images are moderated, so everything in the pool fits the description.
Please read the ‘Trash Fashion’ project Group Rules before uploading your image/s to the group.
This exhibition is funded by SITA Trust as part of the No More Waste project.
