About Trackscape: the motor racing circuit as a part of the landscape

This is a motor racing group of natural beauty and tranquility.

Most track-side photography is about captivating the speed, sounds and tremors of fast, loud and sensational motor racing. Yet once in a while we see a picture so silent and eerie that it draws you away from the momentous aspects of the sport into a state in which thought stands still and the senses are switched off.

This group is about photos showing the racing circuit as a mere landscape. With no cars in sight, or only at a distance, the track almost becomes part of nature.

Do you have any of these "trackscape" photographs to share?

Pictures of motor racing circuits past and present are welcomed, as well as photos taken on roads that were (or are) part of famous road-racing or rallying events such as the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, Liège-Rome-Liège or the Coupe des Alpes.
