IT'S A COLD, CRUEL WORLD AT WAR...

Or is it a hot time in the desert?

Show us what it's like to fight in the wintertime, in any climate, any type of battle. Historic, Sci-Fi, Modern Combat or your own unique interpretation of the theme "Winter Warfare" is eligible!

DEFINITION - you may use any interpretation of the theme "Winter Warfare" for your build.

SIZE - The project may be of any size or scale. A well-done vignette can be as effective (or even more so) than a large-scale build. Shoot for quality!

JUDGING - the scoring is done by a team of ToyWiz staff along with 2-3 independent judges from the community. Judges may not enter the contest! To prevent any attempts to sway the judges, their names will not be revealed until after the contest.

USE OF CUSTOMS - It is okay to use custom parts and pieces with your builds if you prefer. There is no scoring bonus or penalty for the use of customs.

PRIZES - Prizes are to be determined, but will either be prototype weapons or certificates to shop at ToyWiz or BrickArsenal.

HOW TO ENTER - Post your picture or pictures in the ToyWiz Winter Warfare Group

* The contest will run from December 7, 2011 until December 28, 2011 at 11:59PM EST. No entries will be accepted after that time.
* Winners will be announced within 5 days of the end of the contest! This is because we are always pressured to choose more quickly than is ideal - it takes a LOT of time for every judge to review and make selections. After that, we still often have more winners than prizes. To narrow it down, we round-robin the set with each judge being able to make one cut - and no other judge able to question that cut - until we have the correct number of winners. But this doesn't happen quickly! We try to take time to consider each entry carefully.
* All entries must be new creations that haven't been posted prior to the contest.
* You may use non-Lego parts and accessories, but must include BrickArms.
* Digital editing or post-processing are permitted, but should not be done to excess. This is a building contest, not a Photoshop contest!
* Please submit a complete build, not just a single minifigure - your figure may be central to your project, but it must have a scene as well
* Only one photo is required, but you may submit no more than 5 photos showing different aspects of the build
* One entry per person

Judging Criteria for top 3 prizes:

10 points: Originality, cleverness and creativity - within the theme, is it unique, funny or different? Are any elements used in unusual ways?
10 points: Quality and skill of the build
5 points: Interpretation of the theme - is it winter? Is it warfare?
5 points: Photography - did we get a good look at the build?

2 additional prizes will be awarded based solely on the subjective judgment ToyWiz crew. Essentially, 2 prizes go to builds we just happen to like regardless of scoring criteria. These will be chosen by a vote of the ToyWiz crew.
