man, that's amazing! i'd call it a toy. but the whole issue of when a pinhole is a toy and when it isn't is a bit confusing.

very cute, even with viewfinder - I am impressed. In case it works, would you be so kind to post some results?

yep interested in the results if it works, this may be easier to assemble than a shoebox pinhole :p

Thanks, guys. Yeah my first roll turned out surprisingly well. Here is one of the photos:

The flaw in my design was that the angle of view was so wide that the legos on the front showed up in the picture. You can see them on the right and bottom left. I have redesigned a bit to fix the problem.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that it has an almost acurate film counter!

I almost like the idea you can see the legos in the shots. Even cooler yet is how modular the design is. You can make it do or look like anything!

wow!! that shot is truly amazing. and the camera is even better. (btw: legos is are toys, thus the lego-pinhole has to be a toycamera by origin, doesn't it?)

a question for people who wouldn't consider this a toy camera: if Lego had released this as a Lego set to build (which they most definitely should), would that change your mind?

This is just so completely brilliant. Building a pinhole camera with Lego is right up there with mixing peanut butter and chocolate. Sir, I salute you.

I think the legos showing in your picture are the coolest.

Yes, I concur on the legos showing in the shot. This is a camera with so much personality that the images it creates are improved by the camera's 'fingerprint'.

Thanks everybody for your comments on my Lego camera! I made a 35mm version this weekend. If you are interested, you can see a picture of it here. Here is a photo I took with it:
