low res for the cash. I've seen it in the shops here in Japan, but seems like you pay for the design rather than the actual camera.

£175 seems a lot of money to lay down on a toy - not when you can get a 'proper' camera for the same money or even less - and as you're asking about its lens and contrast - i think you want a proper camera instead.

Yeah, hardly seems worth it. I've seen examples from it, pretty underwhelming.
And if you are patient, you can buy a real Rollei for that kind of money. Or a lot less if you 'settle' for a Rolleicord.

I want one so so bad. I'm a sucker for a novelty!

I would probably get one if I had lots of spare cash, but the pictures it yields are nothing special. There are lots of cameras I would spend that kind of cash on first.

@groc: i only use my lca because of its contrasty, saturated results. the result should be important, toy or not.
thing is, i mainly want this camera because of its looks. the fact its digital is a bonus. see, id LOVE to have a tlr, but im a bit iffy about using other films than 35mm. and i want to be able to shoot pretty fast. the minidigi seems to fit all my wants (even if the top lens is a dummy). if you can point me towards a similar camera, please do!
ps: sorry for bad punctuation or whatever, on psp

then really you're not looking for advice at all - just the permission to go ahead and buy it.
i think you're only going to be disappointed in it though. my advice - only buy it from somewhere you know you can easily return it to... after you've had a play with it for day or so.

you should instead o spending that ridiculous amount of money on that, go buy yourself a nice medium format TLR (I would go for flexaret). Resolution of the medium format is absolutely amazing. Even you just only like the design, buy yourself a true TLR and some compact digital. In my opinion, it's wasted money

If I was going to get a TLR, I'd wait for the BBF: can't be bothered with medium format. Harder to get film, harder and much more expensive to develop? Hell no. I was considering getting a Rolleiflex Automat (or some similar Rolleiflex) and putting the Rolleikin 35mm adapter in it. But they're pretty complicated to use :/
If anyone knows of a TLR that is the exact size and shape (inside and out) of a Rolleiflex, but has just sunny/cloudy aperture settings then please let me know! I just want quite simple stuff, prefer it that way so I can pretty much just take photos instead of messing around with settings first.

TraceKaiser: Well you can just use only 1/100 and f11 and f16 and with time you will be able to guess the exposure more precisely. There are some TLR with very simplified interface a google gave me this answer for example www.tlr-cameras.com/German/index.html
as there are medium format cameras with external (newton) viewfinder with only few shutter speed settings, there are also very similar TLR.

for example Meopta or Druopta (both czech or better yet - czechoslovakian manufacturers) made large amount of TLR from basic ones to ones, comparable to Rolleis.
