About ToTnOi. Private images in Socialist Romania

This group will make you return to your family albums. Familiar eyes will face you from black&white settings. Your eyes. We want to gather photographs not merely on how it was like "before" (i.e. before 1989 in Romania) but also on what we enjoyed photographing "before". The joy, the amazement, the sadness. When we were pioneers or party members, when we sang the Golden Era and Ceausescu Peace. When we just stared at the camera. It was still us.

Acest grup este despre scormonit in albumele cu fotografii. De acolo ne privesc ochi mirati, dintr-un peisaj de obicei alb-negru. Ochii nostri. Tot noi. Vrem sa adunam fotografii care sa ne vorbeasca nu neaparat despre cum era "inainte" ci despre ce ne placea sa fotografiem "inainte". Ce ne bucura, ce ne mira, ce ne intrista atunci. Cand eram soimi ai patriei, UTCisti sau pionieri, cantam despre epoca de aur si Ceausescu Pace. Sau nu faceam nimic si ne uitam pur si simplu in obiectiv. Tot noi eram.
