I know that our fearless leader has been busy with preparations for the TOPW show and getting his homework done for this weekend so he hasn't had a chance to post the details for this Saturday's walk.

It looks like Liberty Village won the poll though.

More details to come soon ... I'm sure of it. :)

Besides condos/lofts and offices, what can we find there.
I need to know what photo gear I'll need.

Wasn't Paul saying this would include a gallery visit?

There is a sort of mall dead centre Liberty village that is chock full of galleries - can't recall the name of the place offhand. They have a mini photo-fest there every year.

I've still not heard from 44 Wide (been chatting with them for weeks but no confirmation of a visit as yet) ... but the good news is I have the pubs confirmed! It's all about priorities :)

I'm working on the route at present - I'll post details later this evening, but it may change if I hear from 44 Wide in time.

I'll probably be taking pictures out of town that day, but I may be back in time for the pub.

Oh that's reminds me: Since last time I was in Liberty Village, I read this novel, which opens there. Highly recommended. You will never look at pigeons or squirrels or the Toronto Islands the same way again.

Sorry to prod you there Paul but I had a few folks email me and ask about the walk ... oopsie.

But good to hear we have something to start with. Just curious though, why do we have to wait to hear back from the gallery? Are they not normally open on Saturdays?

No worries.
I've been talking to Charles and Thomas (at 44 Wide) and they were going to check in case there was a workshop happening. (I've not been there - I wonder if they're concerned about space / noise?)

I used to live down in the area. There are a few cool older buildings that are still in "older building" condition (ie. not condoified)The Carpet Factory area and also the warehouses down by Weston Bread, and a bridge or two that could be the subject of some photos...

Any idea on the boundaries of the area you'll be exploring?

I'm tempted to come out for this, but I'm not 100% sure as I'm a little under the weather today. It'd be my first outing with the group despite numerous failed attempts on my part. In any case, ENJOY!
