About TorinoCampus – Turin seen through the eyes of "non-Turinese"
Torino is a warm and welcoming city that about ten years ago underwent a thorough transformation and renewal process.
One of the main transformation elements is represented by an always increasing number of foreigners that have decided to come to Turin to study, work, live or simply to spend a holiday.
Some have decided to stay on forever, others for a long period such as Polytechnic and University students, others only passing by and maybe one day will come back, fascinated by the city.
The aim of this group is to tell through images how Turin is seen by “non-Turinese people”, how their idea of the city emerges through their gaze, their aspirations, their experience and their needs, but at the same time also how they are seen by the “Turinese”.
The best photo of the week will be included in a space in the homepage of the new TorinoCampus website with a direct link to the image on Flickr.
The group is connected to the TorinoCampus project which was started up in 2007 by Torino Internazionale and by the Città di Torino (Assessorato alla Promozione della città e alle Relazioni Internazionali e Servizio Centrale Comunicazione), in co-operation with Turin Universities, UNO training agencies (Staff College, Itc Ilo, Unicri) and the Scuola di Applicazione e Istituto di studi Militari dell’Esercito (Application School and Army’s Military Studies Institute), in order to promote knowledge of the city, relations and integration on the territory of non-resident young people that choose Turin as the destination for their university studies.
