Golden Hour Torquay Harbour by rosyrosie2009.
Why? : The warmth radiating from the 'Golden Hour' lighting in this image is fantastic! It's a very peaceful and serene scene with lots of detail to see when you look closer. There is no chromatic aberration.
It shows the inner harbour of Torquay which once had a huge influence in trade arriving by sea and our rail links being constructed. Overall, a fantastic image!

Where is Torbay? (view map)
Torbay is an east-facing bay and natural harbour, at the western most end of Lyme Bay in the south-west of England, situated roughly midway between the cities of Exeter and Plymouth. Tourist authorities call it the English Riviera on account of its 9 beautiful clear water beaches and mild climate; it is a popular area with holiday makers. Torbay was granted Geopark status in 2007 and is the only urban area of all 58 in the world.
There are three main towns around the bay: Torquay in the north, Paignton in the centre, and Brixham in the south, which have become connected over the years. Famous former residents of Torbay include author Agatha Christie (who set many of her novels in a thinly disguised version of the borough) and the great industrialist and architect of the nearby atmospheric railway, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. John Cleese found inspiration (and the setting) for Fawlty Towers while staying at The Gleneagles Hotel in Torquay.
Popular tourist attractions include Kents Cavern, Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Torquay Museum, Babbacombe Cliff Railway / Model Village, Cockington Court and Country Park, Paignton Pier, The Princess Theatre, an annual Red Arrow display and a large tethered balloon (destroyed by gale force winds early 2012) offering aerial views of the bay.
Local Paper is The Herald Express.
Local bus operated by Stagecoach.
