About Top 20 Macro Inanimate (no bugs, no flowers, nothing alive)

Add this tag to all posted photos: " top20macroinanimate "
(so that we can see all the photos that have been in the pool; past and present,
by searching for that tag).

Macro shots: nothing alive / no bugs or flowers, no other plants or animals - they will be deleted from this pool.

We'll have some discussion on what we mean by "macro" photo as opposed to a "close-up."

At this point this is our definition of macro: must at least be lifesize at the largest viewable size; so nothing bigger than a football or an apple pie, both of which could be displayed lifesize on a typical computer screen. I loved the steering wheel picture, but not in this group. There's a discussion thread on this, and you're welcome to comment. Perhaps more fine-tuning is in order.

So here's the posting-size guidline: To steal and slightly modify the title from a wonderful cartoon book, " Never post anything bigger than your head "

TOP 20 GUIDELINES:

1. This is an open group. Everyone here has ADMIN status. Please review the Members List often, and promote new members by clicking on the Manage Members link. If you've just joined us, please be patient until someone promotes you.

2. All members can delete. If you have just joined, wait until you are promoted to ADMIN (you will not be able to delete until done so).

3. NO MORE THAN 20 PHOTOS IN THE POOL, AT ANY GIVEN TIME. If you upload one, you must delete one. Keep an eye on the number of photos in the pool, if there are less than 20 photos in the pool, you should not delete any. Sometimes the pool goes a little over or under 20. Don't worry about it - the pool will eventually sort itself out.

4. Anyone can post - but ONLY 1 PHOTO PER USER in the pool at any given time. If you have more then one picture in the pool YOUR PHOTOS WILL BE DELETED EXCEPT FOR ONE!!! Can't imagine that any of us is so talented that he or she deserves 2 photos at once!

5. Any photo from the pool may be nominated into the HALL OF FAME - but please select only the most OUTSTANDING photos. You may nominate as many photos as you want, but do not nominate your own photos.(Only others who admire your photographic skills should nominate a photo into the Hall Of Fame). Do not delete any photos from the Hall Of Fame discussion thread.

6. GOT DELETED? If your photo was unceremoniously dumped from the pool or got deleted too fast for your liking, here is where you can add your own photo: to the FAST DELETION? THREAD.

7. Leave posts, or message me with questions, concerns or advice.

8. Don't worry if the pool fluctuates from time to time. Unfortunately, there will be those who join the Top20 groups just for the pleasure of madly deleting photos because they think it's funny to do so. Stay calm, don't panic, and don't post panic discussion threads like "What happened to all the photos?, "Why are there only 16 photos in the pool?" etc, etc. Just repost old photos or add new but DO NOT go on and on about "Why is this happening?" It's just a fact of life in these groups, and the more we fume over it the more satisfaction we bring to the mad deleter.
