I've heard that not only does it vignette at 12mm you see the edges, Doesn't do well until 14-15mm and up, and still has some vignetting. But I don't think I've seen photos and I can't say from experience.

It stops vignetting at 15mm, but I've only got a film full frame, and I've not run a roll of film through it yet to see how it performs.

I've used the lens on a film body from 18-24 and it performs very well, however I would have thought on full frame digital the edges would suffer due to the light rays not hitting the sensor bang on - film is far more forgiving in this situation.

Too bad the 16-35 is so expensive - Although probably worth it for a FF nice ultra wide. There is also the 15mm fish eye, and 14mm Prime which give yeah some nice results on FF.

I've used Tokina with film camera also. Images were quite dark... much darker than with other lenses. I wonder if this is the case with 5d too...

Nope, non of the elements protrudes beyond the safety of the electrical contacts.

It has minimal vignet at 18mm and the vignetting gone at 19mm onwards, I use it with my Nikon F80D and the pics turned out sharp sharp sharp.

I have 5d now and i just tried this lens on it. Works FINE till 17mm. Vignettes after that. Images are a bit darker so i recommend little overexposure. Otherwise image quality is very good.

I have tried the tokina 12-24 on a Canon 5d and in my opinion only starting from 18mm there aren't vignetting.

Most users say, from 19mm on it's OK. Would make sense, since it is a "19mm" at an EOS 350D. ;-)
Just tried at my EOS600: No black corners at about 17/18mm but vignetting is gone from 19mm on.
WHAT A FANTASTIC LENS!!! (Sorry for shouting, but I had to.) ;-)
