21 Jun 10 - If you know anybody with photos of threatened species, invite them to our group.

PLEASE make sure that photos here do NOT contain GPS info (geo/location/position data).
Illegal trade groups of red listed species look for location info in photos to find these animals and capture and sell them in huge quantities.

About Threatened Species (Wild & Red listed)

Here we will collect photos of threatened species, animals & plants alike. Any species listed in The World Conservation Union's (IUCN) Red list database, except those listed with "Least Concern".

To find out if your subject is rated above Least Concern, labeled with anything but "lc", search here:
The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
Wikipedia also has status listing.

We will also try to arrange a monthly photo contest if and/or when the member count is large enough.

- No captive/ZOO animals & plants, except if it's a special project taking place regarding that species.
- No photos of mistreated animals unless it's after being saved.

If you can, please add the Latin name to it.
