06 Aug 10 - This group has been dead for sometime - and most of the admins are pretty much gone. I decided to try and revitalize this group since I like the idea.

So what is the Middle of Nowhere? This could be a conceptual interpretation, but more conventionally, it could be a place isolated from any human life, or evidence of man that has long since been abandoned to the landscape. Please see the new group rules below for a full rundown.

About Middle of Nowhere

Middle of Nowhere can be more than just a landscape with nothing but desert. It can be a moment we find ourselves in, where everything comes unhinged and detachment sets in. Inner city, backwoods, backyards, at work - wherever you are when you feel displaced or momentarily out of kilter. Submit photos that are either literal or transcendent to where you are.

A few guidelines to keep in mind
--Keep it clean
--Keep the post-processing to colors and contrast - full on digital manipulation is discouraged, but there are exceptions
--Occasional moderation of photos post-submission will occur; your photo may be removed if it is thought to not fit the group theme
--Portraiture is completely fine - if it portrays the idea of isolation and detachment well
--Paradoxes are welcome, so submit the frenetic cityscapes or sleepy suburbs that make you feel most disconnected from the world

Other notes
The previous top admin, when they "left," made all members admins. If any current admins happen to come back to this group and see the changes, feel free to contribute your own changes, demote yourself, or add-on. Please contact Andross first if you have an issue though.

Also, if any admins would rather just be moderators (or even current active members are interested in moderating), that'd be nice too - currently, there are none.
