About This Is My Bus Route

King County Metro is in crisis. Either the King County Council approves a temporary $20 car tab to "reduce congestion" and preserve some funding, or our bus service is subject to a 17% cut: metro.kingcounty.gov/am/future/PDFs/p2_Metro_route_list_1...

It's getting real. It's getting real bad.

The purpose of this group? Next time you're on your packed bus, one of the routes slated for the axe (I'm thinking the 5, the 28, the 18, the 55 -- those real popular ones we couldn't live without) fighting for a seat or just for a place to hold on, take a picture of the state of your bus. And put it here.

Then picture all of those people either:

(1) On the road, adding to traffic congestion and all those other problems that come with a city being entirely car-dependent, or

(2) Completely lost, with no way to get around, no way to leave their neighborhood, no way to get to work.

This group was created to urge members of the King County Council to approve the additional revenue that will come from the additional car tab fee, and to encourage those who drive every day to come to embrace the effect that King County Metro has on their commute.

This is important. We need this.
