About This is Australia

This group is for Postcards of Australia which have the words "This is Australia". on the image and which can be seen by anyone who views it without a magnifying glass. It's a group for blatantly displaying national pride.



This group is for those among us who are proud to be called Australian and proud of our great and beautiful country.
We are not ashamed to have our own culture and identity.
We are not ashamed to have our own jokes and our own way of speaking.
We know the words to Waltzing Matilda and we'd love to have that beer with Duncan.
We know that prawns are not shrimps.
We love our landscape with it's abundances and it's deficiencies.
We relish the fact that we live here and we know that we can show off our land with a tinnie in one hand, a sanga in the other and with the waistband of our stubbies high.
We get a lump in the throat at the words
" Out on the patio we'd sit,
And the humidity we'd breathe,
We'd watch the lightning crack over canefields
Laugh and think, this is Australia. "

To post in this group you must follow the following rules:

* The image must be taken in Australia
* The image must have the words "This is Australia" embedded in the image in a font large enough to be seen at first glance . In other words, if we have to hunt to find it, it's going to get chucked out.
* The image must portray an aspect of being Australian

If you can do that, you can join and post to your hearts content.
