About Thin-shell Structures
This group is for images of thin-shell structures of concrete or other materials as typified by the work of Sam Scorer, Félix Candela, Pier Luigi Nervi, Eero Saarinen, Buckminster Fuller. In particular, images of hyperbolic paraboloids, geodesic domes, curved concrete roof structures and modernist structures are welcome.
Thin-shell structures can be of many shapes, but are typically curved and are inherently strong so have been used as solutions to span large areas. Wikipedia has an entry on Thin-shell Structures
