About thingyanWater festival in myanmar language called "thingyan" which means "time of change". The word "thingyan" is come from the word thin-gyan-ta of thakatta and parli language. It means, change of time from old year to a new year. "Thingyan" is a new year festival of Myanmar during summer season. To ease the heat of the summer season, people pour water to the others by many means since myanmar's kingdom is alive. Some just throws gently to others from drops of water from thapyay-leaves just to cooldown the heat and to take away bad lucks. And some people pour much more amount of water from the bowl or a bucket to the others to ease the heat and get wet in cool. The main point to participate water festival or "thingyan" is to cool down people in time of new year believing the coming whole new to be cool, washed away bad lucks and refreshment at the beginning of the new year. |
