About The Texture of Things (Animals, Plants, Still Life & Objects)

This group is about images that feature animals, plants or objects where blended textures are applied in post-processing giving the image a painterly quality. Still lifes are welcome! Please don't include images of landscapes or portraits. I have separate groups which are devoted to such topics. Only high quality manipulated photos are accepted, no painting or design.Thanks!

A word about texture art: The addition of textures in post-processing is meant to enhance the quality of a photograph by way of aesthetic and dramatic appeal. Simply adding texture to an image is not sufficient. The texture must add that "something special" which takes an image to another level. Textures can make a good image outstanding. However, textures may not necessarily improve a bad image simply by their application. The art is to know how much texturing to apply and to deftly blend the elements together.

If your image has not been accepted to this pool after your submission, it may be due to one or more of the following reasons:

1. There is no texture applied to it in post-processing.
2. The texture is not prominent enough.
3. Your image is not of sufficient artistic quality.
4. The composition is excessively bland or banal.
5. Your image does not involve an appropriate subject and may therefore be more suitable for one of my other texture-related pools (see list below).
