During the visiting of the China envoy ( who is NOT recognize Taiwan as a country) on 03- 07/11/2008, Taiwanese government over used its police and national security forces on protesters which resulted in 149+ people including MPs, polices and protesters were wounded.
Even tho the protesters on that day only want to say: we are Taiwanese, and we don't welcome any envoy if he doesn't recognize Taiwan as a country.
Many students who ask for basic human right, mainly freedom of assembly, now still protest in front of CKS Hall (中正紀念堂 or 自由廣場), Taipei, Taiwan.
