About The Romantic Era

1789-1830, the contested dates for the Romantic Era in western literature, were a time of revolution, in politics, science, literature, philosophy, and so on. There is a group called "Romanticism," but it seems to deal much more with gothicism and the preraphaelites.

Certainly the gothic revival was a part of the Romantic Era, and certainly, the preraphaelites were inspired by the major romantic poets, but this group is meant to be more inclusive.

For there is not one consolidated movement called Romanticism; rather, there are myriad Romanticisms. This group is for anything related to what was going on on earth during those tumultuous decades.
