About the real dcinspired by london-alt, this is dc beyond the tourist traps and politicians; I'm a dc native, and would like to disabuse those with the notion that dc is a one-industry town; this is a city of neighborhoods and people, and that's what this gorup is for. as the london-alt description sez, Basically, if an image is suitable for use on a tin of souvenir shortbread, inclusion in a Richard Curtis movie or, particularly, an Olympic Bid promotional video it probably doesn\'t belong here.. (adapt as needed). concrete examples: Please don't post pictures of the Washington Monument here. Or the White House. Or the Lincoln Memorial. Or the Vietnam Wall. Or... you get the picture. If it's taken on The Mall (or other tourist site) it will be pulled without comment. And please don't post photos that are so abstract that you can't tell if they were taken in DC. Even if they were. Also, no national political rallies, no matter how much we agree with their political statements. |
