About The Punjab - buildings and sites of historical significance

The Punjab (pentopotamia or the land of five rivers) encompasses an amazing, varied history and cultural heritage that is often overlooked because of the current truncated form of the region.
The historical sites and buildings of this region are a testimony to the diverse political, religious and cultural influences that have pervaded the region over many millennia.

The Group aims to cover as much variety as possible featuring architecture from pre-Aryan Harappan sites (close to Sahiwal) - a culture that dates to 6000BC, through sites bearing Indo-Greek influence, buildings of religious significance (Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Zoroastrian etc), to buildings of political significance.

Many buildings and sites may be in disrepair but images are nevertheless welcome. The group seeks simply to document the history of the region through pictures. Please contribute.
