About The Critique (Please read the entire front page)
What is The Critique group?
This is designed to be the best group on Flickr for receiving real critiques of your photos. Feedback is guaranteed on every shot. No comments that consist only of "nice shot" are allowed. Comments should demonstrate that the viewer has analyzed the image and should follow the comment format as outlined below. The members of this group are here for improving their photography skills, and for helping others improve. By learning to look at a photograph critically, one learns to compose more aesthetically and take more powerful images.
How does it work?
In brief, each time you post a photo to the pool, you are to classify and provide significant comments on the 3 photos immediately before yours in the pool, as explained in detail in the guidelines below. Then you wait until at least 3 other members have posted photos to the pool before posting again.
Need guidance in making the kind of helpful comments you hope to get on your own photos? Here you will find some excellent suggestions on how to go about critiquing a photo.
If you would like to join this group, please read the following guidelines, and the section on joining the group at the bottom.

Guidelines
To help this group run as smoothly as possible, it is important that all members read and know the following guidelines:
Guideline #1 Photos are to be classified on this specific 5 point scale:
5 = Perfect photo, impossible to improve. Please take the time to think about and share what you feel contributes to the quality of the shot.
4 = Near perfect photo, a few minor improvements would make it perfect. If this rating is given, it is required that you suggest at least one improvement.
3 = Nice photo, but some big improvements are possible. Here it is required that you point out the improvements you have considered. If you are unable to think of more than one improvement, then you should rank the photo higher than a 3.
2 = Below average photo, many things should be changed to improve it. Here it is required that you suggest at least 2 improvements.
1 = Unsalvagable photo. Here it is required that you state how you believe the shot could have been improved when it was taken.
Guideline #2 - A photographer must critique the 3 LATEST PHOTOS in the pool. It is always permissible to critique more than 3, but the latest 3 are required.
Guideline #3 - A photographer must wait until 3 more photos have been submitted before submitting another photo. This is so each member will be guaranteed feedback from 3 other photographers.
Guideline #4 - When classifying a photo, a group member must copy and paste the following (same as above) and use it as their rating:
Class _/5 (<a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/theprofessionalcritique/">The Critique</a> group)
With the formalities out of the way, happy shooting.
