About ThePhotoBeat

ThePhotoBeat is a group of photographers who wanted to design a photo forum that offers a little something extra than the typical photo forum. Our emphasis is not only on sharing photos, but on discussion for all things photography related, as well as a unique and fun approach to photo critique. Our forum moderators are experienced photographers with a keen interest on photographic education in a relaxed forum atmosphere. There are lots of photo forums on the internet, but what we find lacking is a true critique forum by a qualified photo educator who can help you learn. It became part of our mission to set up a dedicated critique forum just for this purpose, and we encourage you to come check it out!

Some of us are digital shooters and some of us love film…but our common goal is to offer photo critique in a way that is educational for the beginner, as well as enlightening for the more advanced photographer.

This photo forum is owned by a dedicated film photographer who keeps a home darkroom and enjoys a variety of alternative photographic techniques. Our film and alternative process forums are here to share with other analog enthusiasts.

We have broken out special discussion forums exclusively for film and digital, as well as a more thought-provoking forum to discuss your own approach to photography, your influences, thoughts, and artistic challenges we face in our world today.

Our members will be the heart of what makes ThePhotoBeat a special place for discussion, critique and a place to relax, learn and have fun.
