About The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy invites you to join its nature photography group.
Announcing the 2009 Digital Photography Competition!
You can enter The Nature Conservancy's 2009 Digital Photo Competition by submitting your favorite images.
Just like the more than 40,000 entries we received since our first contest in 2006, we're looking for beautiful nature photography representing the diversity of life on Earth — including forests, grasslands, lakes, rivers, deserts, rainforests, oceans, coral reefs and more! View our past winners.
To enter one or more images, add your photos to our group and tag each with "PhotoContest-TNC09".
The contest is open to all photographers age 18 or older regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation. Photo submissions must be uploaded by 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Please read the full rules before entering.
Sign-up for our free nature e-newsletter today, and we'll keep you up-to-date on of all our photo contest news.
Share your Migratory Birds Photos!
Migratory Birds are often the bellwether of our environment, and are among the very first to be affected by changes to their ecosystems.
Post your favorite bird photo to the group -- and tag it with Birds-TNC09 -- and we may use it in the coming months to help raise awareness for these special creatures.
NEW! Share Your Photos with Nature Conservancy magazine
Do you have a favorite photo of the natural world? We’d love to see it. Every quarter we’ll provide a topic to inspire you. If you’re up for the challenge, gear up and head out to capture the perfect photograph — or simply search your archives for a suitable submission. The editors’ top picks will be published in the magazine and featured in an online slideshow at nature.org/magazine.
Our next challenge is kids in nature.
To enter one or more images, tag them with "NatureKids-TNC09".
Research indicates that kids that spend time in nature are often happier, healthier and smarter. Now that summer is here opportunities to explore the outdoors are only as limited as your imagination. And there’s no need to stray far from home: Staycations — activities in your own backyard — can be inexpensive and fun for the whole family.
The Nature Conservancy invites you to share your best photos of kids in nature. Need ideas? This year The Nature Conservancy is partnering with outdoor gear and apparel retailer R.E.I., The Children & Nature Network, and ecoAmerica to launch Nature Rocks — a campaign to bring families and nature together. For more than 100 outdoor activities to keep your brood busy all summer long check out www.naturerocks.org.
