About Theme Competition Kids & Babies

A weekly theme photo challenge that showcases kids and babies. Each theme will have up to five winning photos with one being chosen "Overall Winner". The overall winner judges the next week's competition. ONLY those five winning images will be posted to the pool. Please do not post any other photos, or Honorable Mentions in the pool.

To join in:
•Post ONE small version of your image in the thread (see how to below):
•It must feature kids, babies or childhood things that are somehow related to the theme.
•It doesn’t matter when the image was taken only that it was taken by you.
•You may swap out your submission during the week of the theme.

The inspiration came from the Theme Competition group. It's been very successful, so we thought we'd try it with Child Photography.

The photographer chosen as the ‘photo of the week’ will choose the next photo of the week (they can not submit an image that week).


How to add a photo into the discussion:
•Start on the photo page of the picture you want to include
•Click on “different sizes” (on the bottom right under “Additional Information”)
•Click on “small” at top of page
•Scroll down to choice #2 “Copy and paste this HTML into your webpage:"
•Copy all of the information in the box
•Paste it in the theme discussion above.


Judging Guidelines
The overall winner each week gets to judge the following week’s competition. Please choose up to five winning images, naming one, "Best Overall.” You may choose the award titles for the other winning photos. This latitude is given because each theme is so different there is no way set awards would fit each theme. Some examples of general titles; Most Creative, Best Post Production. Best B&W, Best use of lighting, Funniest, Cutest, Best portrait, etc. You can make it specific to that theme; Cutest Fairy, Best Sleeping Angel, etc. But please limit your choices to five winners. Only the winning photos go into the pool, NOT honorable mentions or runner's up, so please be clear with your title names.

After you’ve made your winning selections post the announcement at the end of the theme you are judging. List the award title and a link to the image. Please announce the award in the comment section of the chose image with any reasons you wish to share about why it was chosen. Just to clarify make these comments on the photo’s page not in the Theme Competition discussion.

You may also give out as many honorable mentions as you like. You can list them all together after the winners or list them as honorable mentions to each of the categories you create. You don’t need to make an announcement on the photos for the honorable mentions.

But most importantly, have fun with it!
