The idea is to Post photo or piece of artwork within a discussion thread, with the intent that others download the shot and then make derivative works which they then add to the discussion thread. This way we can see all the marvelous, creative interpretations in one place!!

By posting a photo to this pool and/or a discussion thread, you are explicitly giving any flickr photographer the right to use your work to create derivative works based on your original.

Other than that, there are no rules as to how many threads to open, etc.

HERE'S HOW TO POST YOUR PHOTO

1) Click on "Post a New Topic"

2) insert a small size (240 x 180 pixel) of the photo you would like to have "played with" or modified. Here\'s how you can do this:

- click the "all sizes" icon for the photo you wish to submit.

3) copy and past the HTML - the bottom, more wordy one - into your topic. When you save the small version of your photo should appear.

4) Type a comment about your photo, if desired.

5) Check back and see what others have done with your photoplay.

6) Have fun! (anyone not having fun will automatically remove themselves from the group!)

7) Don't forget to give attribution and a link to the original photo from the modified pic in your photostream: Example: From an original by "shadowmoon", used with permission, for the group "Theme and Variations"

8) If you'd like to add a tag "themeandvariations" to your theme and/or variations, that would be nice, but not required.
