About The Male Gaze: Guy Portraits by Girl Photographers
The Male Gaze is a photo pool for male portraits shot by female photographers (reverse sexism, if you will). No nudity----artistic photos only, please. I'm not a snob about what kind of camera you use; I only ask that your photo be interesting, tasteful, and that it either portrays or exploits the male subject as you, the woman, has taken it. 'Cause that's the point. :)
3 photo per day maximum. I've had to change this due to abuse by a few members.
Also, the rules have been updated. Please read below....

Rules (updated Sept 27, 2010):
1. You must be a GIRL PHOTOGRAPHER to join this group
2. Only PORTRAITS of MALES allowed.
3. Again, NO NUDITY!
4. NO GROUP SHOTS - Animals and objects don't count. People in the background are also okay, as long as the portrait prominently features one, individual male.
5. NO YOUNG BOYS - are they babes, or are they men? We're aiming for the teen-and-above audience.
6. NO BODY PARTS / CROPPED TORSOS / BACK-OF-THE-HEAD SHOTS - extremely close shots of eyes, photos of hands, and torso shots with the face cropped or partially cropped out do not count as portraits. Please only submit shots where the FACE is somewhat visible. Silhouettes negotiable, depending on the lighting. This leads us to our next rule...
7. NO BACK-OF-THE-HEAD SHOTS - Again, we have to see a face for it to be a portrait.
8. NO SNAPSHOTS / SUPER WIDE SHOTS / CANDIDS - Submitted pics must be somehow arranged by you - no candids of some guy at a party or on the street (unless it's an arranged/fake candid which has a portrait feel), and no far-away landscapes which happen to include a guy. These do not qualify strictly as portraits. A full body shot is fine, as long as it has the feel of a portrait or character shot. Portraits don't have to be close-ups.
7. NO LIVE CONCERT / SHOW PHOTOS! We do not permit snapshot-type photos taken during performances or rehearsals of any kind, even if they are very nice snapshots.
Group admin and moderators reserve the right to delete any photos which either:
a.) do not follow the above rules,
b.) we think is in poor taste, or
c.) are super, super depressing (terribly composed, poorly lit, sunglasses and backwards hat, holding beer, etc.)
We also reserve the right to remove or ban members whose past photo submissions do not fit the description of this group. If you are removed, it could just be due to a large number of ill-fitting photos you submitted. Please feel free to accept group rules and rejoin! We want to see your work. :)
Meanness and gross talk will not be tolerated! But girly sexism is okay. ;)
