About A Little Photoshop

So What Do You Want To Learn Today?

Welcome to a small group of photographers who are dedicated to sharing their knowledge of Photoshop on Flickr. It was created to accompany www.alittlephotoshop.com as a place for Q&A and Discussion on all the software in the Photoshop family. This includes Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CS4, Bridge, and Lightroom. As photographers, we believe in getting it right in camera. So as well as discussing all things Photoshop, we can't help but talk about Photography, Lighting and Off Camera Flash. So if you are stuck taking images and your exposures aren't what they should be! Then, we are all here to help each other!

Now, if you don't know much about Photoshop? Spend too much time in the filters menu? Need to learn more about digital workflow? Well, head on over to www.alittlephotoshop.com and get watching and reading. Its mostly free, and a great place start. There you will find an ever growing list of in-depth screencasts and articles for Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements and Photography on all manner of topics, but always for a Photographers point of view. So whether you have a point and shoot or an HD DSLR, you are most welcome to join us.

So that members can quickly and easily help each other. We have devised a set of topic codes based upon the abbreviations Adobe assigns to their software. This way users can search the group easily and thats good for everybody.

If you have a question or wish to discuss the following topics. Here are the codes that will help to keep your topic focused.

P = Photography
Ps = Photoshop
Pse = Photoshop Elements
Br = Bridge
Lr = Lightroom

OCF = Off Camera Flash & Big Lights
LPS = Website
OT = Off Topic for everything else

Now, they are pretty self-explanitory. But we also have a one more code that is a little specific ;)

Ask Stu
= Use this code, If you have a question you would like Stu to answer directly or to suggest a screencast or article for the website.

Now, don't worry if you are new to Flickr or you just plain forgot to add a code. An admin will add the topic code for you and probably point you towards these guidelines as a little reminder. But here is an example anyway!

Got a Photoshop Question?

Ps: How do I create a soft focus effect?

Easy, and now we all know you are asking this about Photoshop.

Now, if its a techie question then a little more info maybe required but not in the topic title. If you have something weird going with your computer that maybe related to it crashing. It is always really helpful if you tell us your computers basic specifications like the operating system and also which version of software you are using!

So for example:

Windows XP
Photoshop CS4 Extended

That way someone is not going to come along and ask you for this information and we all know to give you an answer thats for the PC and for Photoshop CS4 rather than CS2 or Elements 8. Plus you get the answer you are looking for that little bit faster.

Wanna Share your photos with us? Well, we would love to see them, But please limit yourself to one photo per day to gives us time to enjoy your work and learn from it.

I don't want to have to stick up loads of hard and fast rules, all that we ask is that you share your knowledge, be nice, and pay it forward when you can...

Post an image, note a technique, comment on an image, just doing these simple tasks each time your here is enough for people to learn that little bit more... Oh! and try not to be too techie. Remember we are not all rocket scientists, so keep it simple where possible.

Most of all enjoy your Photography and Photoshop!

Cheers

The LPS Team
