The large fromat pinhole camera does not have to be DIY projet, photos made with large format cameras with the front panel as pinhole are also accepted.
Photos submitted to the pool should be a digital scan of negatives, polaroid, enlarged photo or contact print, please do not submit a digital photography of a printed photo, use a scanner to preserve the quality of your work.

The effect of the pinhole camera or camera obscura has been known for a long time. So far back in time as in China we have trace about the camera obscura from the philosopher 墨翟 Mo Zi 470BC. In modern times the first ever photograph by Joseph Nicephore Niépce is thought to have been made using a "camera obscura" = pinhole camera as early as in 1825.
To understanding the start and history of photography I recommend that members look up William Henry Fox Talbot that invented the calotype (talbotype) and Sir John Frederick William Herschel that invented the cyanotype on Wikipedia.org as well as Joseph Nicephore Niépce and Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre.
