About The Landscape Portrait
This group is dedicated to a special type of environmental portrait that blends elements of landscape photography and portrait photography into what is known as the landscape portrait.
What separates landscape portraits from other types of environmental portraits?
Environmental portraits are pretty non-specific and can be taken indoors or outdoors in an endless variety of subjects and formats. The landscape portrait makes a portrait subject or figure flow into the much larger outdoor landscape or cityscape around them. For this reason landscape portraits are often shot at a wide angle like a typical landscape photograph with the portrait subject interacting in this space at a comparatively small scale. What is most important however is that the subject(s) interact with the landscape.
